Shirley Lyon is the owner and operator of Port Douglas Mossman Pest Control. Shirl moved from Sydney to Port Douglas in 2015, purchasing PDM Pest Control which had operated for 15 years in the region. She has since successfully grown and diversified the business, continuing to invest in the Douglas Shire with residential and commercial properties. After 23 years of working in senior positions in NSW Legal Aid, and now as a small business owner, Shirl understand the challenges of business success in a constantly evolving economic and political environment. Recognising that it is essential to develop a favourable environment for small and medium businesses to grow and prosper. It is her mission to promote Douglas Shire to visitors, migrants and investors and to work with Douglas Chamber as an enabler in supporting the development of a successful business hub as we develop valuable market insights, up-to-date information on Chamber initiatives, programmes, events, activities and other useful resources.
